Nemo is one happy baby boy! He is going to be 16 weeks old this weekend. It continues to amaze me how fast time is going. Everyday is fun. He seems to learn something new or give me a new look all of the time.
His daycare is amazing. Chief and I love it and we know Nemo is so loved there. One day, he was quite upset with his parents: daddy put on an outfit that was a little snug getting on and then I dared to put him in his car seat. When he got to daycare he wouldn't look at me. I went to give him a kiss and he turned his face. I handed him to Ms. Emily and my gosh his little face lit up and he gave her big smiles. At first, I felt like chopped liver but then it hit me that he really does like where he goes everyday and all that matters is his happiness.
We get reports everyday as to what he did. Let's see, there are art projects, and tummy time, and singing, and reading books....the list goes on. They record everything even down to his last diaper change and what was in it!
Nemo is busy playing with his fingers. A few weeks ago he started to grab things and now he is figuring out how to put things into the mouth. He is sitting up with help. His head is very controlled. He is still doing awesome with tummy time. He is talking and now squealing when he gets excited. I can't wait for him to laugh. I think he is getting closer on that. He gives us big smiles especially in the morning and every single time we put him on the changing table. Chief has labeled that his "happy place". He is kicking and starting to rotate his hips more when we play on the floor. Daycare is practicing rolling with him. Fair warning to JJ and Dusty for when this kid gets going I don't think we will be able to stop him.
He has a 4 month check up in a few weeks. We are guessing he is over 14 pounds and 26 inches long. I suppose I could get on the scale and do the math but me getting on a scale is not happening.
Since going back to work I have gained 5 pound which is a little distressing. When I was home with Nemo, I was so busy being a mom and never had time to eat. When I got back to work my milk supply dropped way down and so I stopped pumping a week ago. Ladies, as hard as breastfeeding was it was a great way to keep the pounds off. I am happy that spring is around the corner. I really can't wait to go out and walk farther and longer. You all know that ever since I broke my arm a few winters ago I am a bit afraid of snow and ice. I have toyed with the idea of going to the YMCA but the last thing I want to do is not come home to my baby. I just can't wait to get home and be with him. I have some friends that are stay at home moms and they tell me that it is good for me to get out and workout on my own. The difference between them and me is that they see their child all day but I don't. I am choosing to spend time with Nemo rather than the gym. I am looking forward to warmer weather for walking and gardening.
The boys (JJ and Dusty) are being good brothers. We have had no issues and hope that continues. I am sure once the little guy gets moving things may change. Nemo seems to be more interested in them compared to last month. He has grabbed some hairs and has given both of them a few kicks. We are trying to desensitize the dogs so that they are getting use to him. JJ is still protective. I guess he figured that the stork isn't coming back to pick up Nemo. I have caught him checking on Nemo when he is in his crib. Dusty still doesn't much care that there is a baby here.
Our lives have changed a lot since last year at this time. All for the better.

I think once the diggities realize that Nemo is a walking (soon) food depository, they'll become even fonder of him. :-)
He's really cute. I can't believe how big he is! I think he looks just like you!
I'm sure Nemo would be very entertained by watching you do The Firm. That way you can be with him AND be healthy. Long walks are also good. We are finally able to get out now that the snow and ice is gone here.
